Let’s go on the journey together
I commend you for starting your journey to self-discovery and healing. It isn’t an easy thing to do, but here you are taking the first, and most important step. Perhaps you’re here to work on past issues that you’ve struggled to resolve, or found your way to my site because of something that happened recently that you need support navigating. Whatever the reason, you are here now in the right place. I am ready to embrace you openly in a safe, nonjudgmental space, provide you support and clarity needed for you to grow into your best self.
It takes time to find the right therapist with whom you can cultivate rapport and trust. I believe that in order for you to trust me, you need to get to know who I am.
Whether seeking therapy for the first time or the fiftieth, it takes courage and strength. I am a firm believer that every human being is worthy and deserving of love, connectivity, and fulfilling relationships. Within those relationships we learn something unique, and seek safety and connection, but sometimes do not receive what we need.
Right now you may be feeling limited in your ability to cope with your emotions, feeling hopelessness and overwhelmed with things outside your control. Whether you are going through a big change or you are having difficulty understanding your emotions, you do not need to do this alone.
It would be an honor to walk with you on your journey of self-discovery and healing. Together we will explore and navigate the painful experiences you have endured and work towards a brighter, more secure future.
I welcome you into a safe space, where you can feel comfortable to share your thoughts and feelings. Together, we work to gain a better understanding of who you are by attaining new insights and awareness and will collaborate to better understand your emotions and break unhelpful thought patterns that are not useful in the direction you’d like to go.
I am passionate about the work that I do. I will help you discover the best version of yourself, so that you can live a more fulfilling and meaningful life. I will provide you with the compassion that you have always deserved. Together, we will build a strong set of tools to help you navigate through life’s challenges with confidence.

about Erin katz, Amft
Born and raised in Los Angeles County, one can say that I am a true native Angelino. I was adopted at birth and that has had a large impact on my own personal mental health journey. Starting at a young age, I spent many weekends volunteering my time at food banks creating grocery bags full of food for low income families, at senior living facilities spending time with residents, and at the local animal shelter walking and bathing dogs. A sense of providing support to others was something I was passionate about. And then, at the age of nineteen, my father was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer and passed away after a short three month battle. Losing my father turned my life upside down and left me with my own battle against major depression and anxiety. I spent ten years after his passing working in marketing for non-profit organizations and ultimately ended up creating my own marketing and design company. While enjoyable, I was not contributing to the betterment of others in the way I had hoped, and felt that something was missing.
It took a global pandemic to provide me with an awakening that led me to go back to school at the age of 37 to get my masters’ in family therapy at Pepperdine University. My age, at first daunting, became something that made the process even more enriching because of my life experiences. My own struggle with ADHD as a child in a time when there was little focus on mental health care, complex trauma, and grief provided me an education I couldn’t learn in school. It is that real life experience coupled with academic knowledge that allows me to provide unique and intimate support to my clients.
